It was every administratorís nightmare scenario. Like most school districts, Byron Independent School District 531 in southeastern Minnesota had a regular textbook revision cycle. But in 2010, when it was the high school mathematics departmentís turn to order new texts, the district faced a troubling mismatch: The existing textbooks did not at all address the stateís new math standards.
