AT Middle College High
School on the campus of
New York City’s LaGuardia
Community College, 18-year-old
high-school senior Alex Panesso
observes, “There are some students
who take too much advantage
of our freedom. As a sophomore,
I messed up, I got bored.
But then, as a junior, I found out
the only way I’m going to pass
high school is by me doing it.
That’s what I like about this
school. We have to be responsible
for ourselves. We’re interacting with adults and have more
understanding with teachers. It
changes your whole world.” He
plans to go to college, major in
business, and earn a Master’s degree
in Business Administration.
